euge & al invited Sebastian Acker to respond to Supine Accoustic Festival. The Festival is a day long music and barbecue event, giving bands the opportunity to do an acoustic performance within the gallery space at Supine Studios. On its third run, the Festival receives interest from all sorts of musicians wishing to join the line-up and the crowd gets bigger and bigger, filling up the gallery space to the brim.

Sebastian Acker, a Chelsea College Graduate from BA Interior & Spatial Design, is to deal with the Festivals effect on the gallery space: a spatial off-balance of volume and mass. The artist is to consider the top half of the gallery as the exhibition space, allowing the bottom half to remain crowd heavy and use the height of the space to create visual work that will coexist with the live bands, the crowds and the overall euphoric enchantment of the night.

Sebastian Acker's work journeys between art installation and functional interaction. Often working site-specific, he explores a given space visually and politically: its represantations of private/public, exclusive/inclusive, finished/in progress form the narrative for his spatial installations. For the CEILING SHOW, Sebastian is exploiting Supine Studios' art space many facetted roles. It is an art studio, a gallery space and in the evenings a place for the Supines to dine amongst the colourful bits and bobs of artwork in progress.
